The Opposing Breasts
In breast reconstruction with implants often an exact symmetry cannot be achieved.
That is why patients often desire to alter the opposite breast too - usually to make it firmer.
The operation is called equalizing firmness and is usually covered by the health insurance.
The Mammary Reconstruction is not undertaken untill the final breast form has been achieved. In other words about 6 months after the breast reconstruction.
The treatment can be performed as an out-patient procedure under local anesthesia. The reconstruction is either performed using the tip of the nipple of the oposite breast or with an artificial replacement of the rebuilt breast..
The areola of the nipple is either created through skin transplantation or dyed by tatooing.
