The Town of Grand Marais, Manitoba

Grand Marais is French for 'Big Marsch' - so dubbed by La Verendrye. It is right on the edge of Grand Beach Park along Highway 12.

Now a community in Manitoba, Canada within the Rural Municipality of St. Clements. Situated immediately south of Grand Beach Provincial Park. It is a short drive from Winnipeg, located in Lake Winnipeg cottage country.

It offers several public services such as, stores, bars, a library, serveral clubs, an RV Park, a Manitoba Hydro outlet, etc.

The RV Park is roughly open from May to October and is the future home of the Don Burdeny Memorial Park. Don Burdeny is the founder of the Grand Beach and Area Development Corporation, sadly killed in a car accident in 2004.

Today, the town's population swells during the summer as cottagers and tourists stream to the area to enjoy the many resort and entertainment opportunities it offers.
